On a personal note, when I'm not in the office you can find me chasing my two young boys around our backyard, in the garage attempting a new woodworking technique, hiking up (and down) a trail, or thumbing through the stacks at a record store.

I recently had the privilege of creating a birthday card for the youngest client to date: My 6-year-old son. Coming up with the theme and graphic details wasn't a challenge since he already had a clear vision in his mind, but getting him to articulate that vision ended up being the ultimate challenge. I experienced new types of feedback I hadn't encountered in the nearly 15 years of being a professional designer, and working to find common ground proved more difficult than anticipated. Nevertheless, after a few (8) rounds of revisions, we reached a final result we were both proud to share with friends and family.
